EASTERN ILLINOIS BUSINESS EDUCATION ASSOCIATION Spring Meeting March 2, 2011

• Pre-Meeting Activities
  The spring meeting of EIBEA was held at Joe’s Pizza, Effingham, Illinois, on Wednesday, March 2, 2011. A business tour was held at the Effingham Performance Center after the meeting.
  
  
• Business Meeting
  At 5:35 PM, President Woods called the meeting to order.
  
  Shasta Bennett stated that the fall minutes were emailed out, posted on website and handed out to members and asked for any additions or corrections. Louis Gassman made a motion to accept the fall minutes; Julie Chadd seconded; motion carried.
  
  Shasta Bennett reported an opening balance of $1,102.39, and a closing balance of $1,373.06. Motion was made to approve the treasurer’s report. Sheryl Brummer made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report; Julie Chadd seconded; motion carried.
  
  School Reports (see attached minutes)
  
  Election of New Officers
  President—Mike Woods
  Vice-President—Julie Chadd.
  Secretary— Shasta Bennett
  Treasurer—Sheryl Brummer
  
  Scholarships and Awards Shasta Bennett reported that the one applicant received for the scholarship didn’t qualify and no one was nominated for the awards.
  
  Fall meeting location-during the affiliation time slot at the IBEA Conference Thursday night, November 10.
  
  Open (see attached minutes for announcements)
  At 6:25 pm, Marcy Satterwhite made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Sheryl Brummer seconded; motion carried.
  
  Business Tour
  After the meeting, the group drove to the Effingham Performance Center and received an outstanding tour of the facility by Janie Oldfield, Executive Director of the EPC. Ms. Oldfield was very informative and provided the group access to every area of the facility. She gave detailed business background information from the decision to build the center to the business now as a non-profit. The tour ended at 8:00 PM. CPDUs were handed out.
