2004-2005 EIBEATeacher of the Year Award Winner is: Jim Luedke
Jim has worked as a business educator for 28 years, both at the high school and college levels. Some of the specific characteristics that Jim possesses that make him most eligible for this award include the following.
Master Teacher .—Jim is no doubt a master teacher. He commands respect and attention from his students, while always challenging them to learn more and develop critical thinking skills. He accomplishes this in a fun, jovial classroom setting, always calling on all his students by name and making sure that all comprehend the subject matter.
Kind and Caring .—Jim genuinely cares about his students and advisees. He goes above and beyond the norm to ensure that his students receive a quality education. Jim was among the first teachers at Lake Land to volunteer for participation in an “Early Advantage Program,” which monitors the progress of at-risk students. This is just typical of Jim, as he is more than just a teacher; he is also a mentor and a role-model to his students.
Valuable Leader in His Field .—Jim has time and time again stepped forward at Lake Land to represent his division in a positive manner. His participation in countless committees and other task forces are examples of his willingness to act as a leader in his profession.
Without a doubt, we should honor Jim Luedke for his testament of excellence to our profession.
